MULTI-FUNCTIONAL MEASUREMENT SYSTEM FOR QUAY CRANES
LaseMF-4 is a modular, multifunctional laser measurement system based on multilayer laser scanners for ship-to-shore cranes. The MF-4 offers several function modules that can be selected separately or combined as required by the customer. The selected function modules determine the number and positioning of the laser scanners.
The Application
The laser scanners are connected to the LASE Control Unit (LCU). The application software runs on the LCU, where it processes raw data from the laser scanners. The application software consists of a framework (LaseMF) and function modules. The customer selects the function modules they want. It is possible to add additional function modules later.
LaseMF-4-TPS - Truck Positioning System
The function module measures the position of the chassis and the container on the chassis. It provides feedback to the truck driver via digital displays of the distance between the chassis centre/container centre and the crane’s centre. The function increases the productivity of the crane.
LaseMF-4-CPD - Cabine Position Detection
During the container deposit process to the chassis, the function module checks whether the truck’s cabin is outside the operation area of the spreader and the container, to prevent that the container will be deposited onto the cabin.
LaseMF-4-GCP-3D - Gantry Collision Prevention-3D
The function module observes the area in front of the crane and detects whether objects are in the driving path. The function includes crane-to-crane collision prevention. The 3D-Multilayer Laser Scanner can detect objects lying on the
ground.
LaseMF-4-ESD - Empty Space Detection
Before and during the deposit of a container, the function module measures whether the space on the chassis is empty.
LaseMF-4-TMD - Truck Movement Detection
During the loading and unloading process, the function module detects when the truck is moving.
