History of LASE
LASE was founded on May 15th by the present CEO Dipl.-Ing. Achim Klingberg in Hünxe (Germany) in 1990. He was pioneering in the development and usage of laser measurement technology in the heavy industry. One of the first business deals was the delivery of 1D laser distance meters for the fill level detection of ladles to the smelter company “Krupp Mannesmann” in Duisburg. In this task lasers had to be able to measure on hot surfaces and these lasers also had to be protected against extreme heat. In this commission it was the task to develop an appropriate solution together with the customer. In the following years the product range has been extended. In the year 2001 2D laser scanners have been added and later, in 2005, the first 3D laser scanner has also been released by LASE. In order to process those complex measurement data from the 2D and 3D applications, the company LASE Systemtechnik GmbH was founded by Dipl.-Ing. Lars Ambrosy in Bremen (Germany) in 2001.
Three years later in 2004 both businesses have been consolidated under the umbrella of the company LASE Industrielle Lasertechnik GmbH – the location in Bremen is kept as further branch.
The range of products reaches from punctual distance measurements to complex laser measurements system – mostly in difficult operating conditions. The main field of business activity is the production and distribution of components and system solutions as well as the development of customized software applications. Furthermore our team of experienced engineers and technicians provide competent support – starting from initial consulting to proper commissioning.
Measurement systems by LASE are mostly applied for port- and crane applications, profile- and volume measurement in piles or bunkers as well as for the measurement of steel products worldwide. Today LASE is a solid company – well established on the market! Several globally leading machine manufacturers and automation companies trust in our products, services and expertise since then.
In order to serve our customers who are not only active in the industrial sector, the company LASE PeCo Systemtechnik GmbH was founded in 2008; this company deals with security applications (building and field monitoring) as well as people counting.
Today, LASE is a solid company that is well established on the market. Many of the world’s leading machine manufacturers and automation companies have relied on our products, services and expertise ever since.
The implementation of a certified quality management system according to ISO 9001:2008 as well as the safety requirements according to SCC** 2011 also guarantee standardized and transparent work processes and are the primary goal of our actions.
For more than 25 years LASE is developing, producing and distributing laser measurement systems, laser scanners, distance meters and different components for several kinds of industries. This year, the government of the city of Moscow is implementing an enormous investment program. The reason for this is the city infrastructure development and digitalization of the administration for housing and communal services. The program will be used to provide, collect, process and transmit information about all trucks arriving at the stations of the snow melting points. This information is then forwarded to the automated management system for the dispatching service of the Moscow department of housing. One of the main tasks of this project is the automatic, non-contact measurement of the profile and volume of snow in trucks. The snow is cleared from the streets of Moscow in autumn/winter and then the water fed in from all snow melting points into the general water circuit of the Moscow water supply and sewage disposal plant. For the realization of this measuring project, it is planned to install 68 control points, each of which will be equipped with the 3D measuring system LaseTVM-3D-S (static) of LASE Industrielle Lasertechnik GmbH. As a global player, the family business MEILLER has been writing a success story since 1850. For the elevator doors industry, MEILLER was looking for a reliable and automated volume measurement and weight measurement with integrated photo documentation of the pallets in the outgoing goods department. The company LASE Industrielle Lasertechnik GmbH from Wesel has exactly the solution for this. The product series LaseAFM (automatic and multidimensional freight measurement) is developed to give manufacturing companies, forwarding agents, freight logistics companies and freight receivers a highly accurate measurement (length, width, height, volume and weight) and to document the condition of the freight. The advantages are obvious. Automated means: - No false declaration of the cargo - Reduced effort and time saving in the collection of freight-specific data - no transmission errors (no errors due to manual entry into the system) - always reproducible results (not depending on the measuring staff) Now the project at MEILLER was more individual, as the freight dimensions are much larger than the dimensions of a standard pallet. Freights with a max. dimension of 5m x 2m x 2.5m (LxWxH) should be measured. Not a problem for LASE. We used the warehouse construction and attached the 3D laser scanners to the warehouse cross beams. In addition, a scale with a special dimension of 2.5m x 2m and a measuring range of 6t was delivered, which was embedded in the hall floor.
