Bunker volume measurement for waste incineration plants. The system provides high dynamic measurement results of the waste bunker level to the process control system.

The Measuring System

The LaseWVI - Waste Volume Incinerator system for waste volume measurement in waste bunkers of waste incineration plants is used to measure the volume of the feed material for the incineration process.
For the application of this volume measurement system, a 2D or 3D laser scanner is installed above the bunker or at the crane. Either 2D is chosen in combination with crane travel or 3D for immobile installation locations (ceiling or wall). The material in the bunker area is scanned with high precision.

The measuring system can precisely determine the level, volume, and profile from the scan data obtained. The volume measurement system can be easily and intuitively operated and controlled by means of a user-oriented user interface. The volume measurement is divided into checkerboard-like fields within the waste bunker area. Measurement data is transmitted to the LASE system, which can now perform an up-to-date level measurement of each field.

Automatic feed or discharge movements of the material can thus be precisely determined.

All relevant status information on volume, profile and level are clearly displayed and logged for documentation purposes. The measuring system is versatile and is used for volume measurement or profile determination in a wide variety of bunker system types.
